Recycle, recycle, recycle

Despite not being able to hold in-person meetings at the moment, Bluffton’s Lions Club continues to work behind the scenes in several efforts in the community.

Here’s an update from the current Lions newsletter of club activities related to recycling:

• A load of batteries was taken to a  area recycling location by Brandon Matthews.

• Ed Yeager took 23 pairs of hearing aids to the Findlay Hearing Center. They were extremely grateful and said there a backlog of hospice patients in need of hearing aids.

• Barbara Plaugher took a large bag of crushed aluminum cans to The Barn. Continue to drop them off at her resident at 62 Anna Circle.

• Ink cartridges are distributed to the appropriate collection centers by Corwin Croy.

• Dennis Morrison collects used flags. He receives at least 400 flags a year to properly dispose.

• Eye glasses collected are sent to the Pandora sorting center from the Lion’s collection sites.

The club has a collection point on the first floor of the town hall for several recyclable items including batteries, hearing aids, eye glasses, ink cartridges and worn flags.
