There's a new website in town

Bluffton schools launched the site earlier this month

There’s a new website in Bluffton and, while it’s still a work in progress, it’s impressive. It’s also very user friendly and easy to use on a cell phone.

Bluffton Exempted Village Schools launched its new website two weeks ago, Greg Denecker, superintendent, told The Icon.

The new sites link is www.blufftonschools.org

Created by Schoolpointe, based in Columbus, the firm has created websites for nearly 2,500 school districts in 39 states.

“We originally hoped to launch it in March, but the covid-19 put a delay on that,” said Denecker.

“While we launched in earlier this month, we continue to add things to it, so it is not entirely updated,” he said. The new site replaces one that served the district for the past 10 years.

Denecker said that students, working with Mardy Herr and Todd Boblitt, will be able to assist on the site and in so doing will develop their own web skills for their own futures.

The website uses red, white and black as its base colors. The homepage provides drop down links to the school district, staff, parents, calendar and lunch menu.

Above those links are links to each of the three schools.

Quick links on the left side of the home page take viewers to:
• District news
• District events
• Board of education
• Employment
• Forms and links
• Staff directory
• Athletics
• Music
• Photo galleries

The latest school news, latest events, music and athletic links are posted lower on the homepage. In addition a map of Bluffton is on the homepage.

Listed with “latest news” is a remote learning survey for 2020-21, which the district is asking parents to complete as an option for student learning.
