No Fall Festival this year
What would have been the Bluffton community’s 17th annual Fall Festival has been cancelled due to the ongoing threat of Coronavirus.
Usually taking place on the fourth Saturday of September, Fall Festival Committee members have been monitoring the situation and discussing plans for weeks, and ultimately came to the difficult decision to cancel the event.
All participating organizations have expressed their desire to continue the Festival in 2021.
Beginning in 2004 as a small event at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton’s Fall Festival has grown into a popular family tradition that spans multiple locations in and around Bluffton – each offering fun, educational and unique attractions.
Examples of activities offered include a fishing derby, antique tractor show, bounce-houses, putt-putt golf, a variety of food vendors, face painting, crafts, historical exhibits and historical re-enactments.
Most recently, organizations that have participated in the annual event have included Bluffton Family Recreation, the Swiss Community Historical Society (at the Schumacher Homestead), Bluffton Hospital, the Bluffton Farmer’s Market, Mercy Health Bluffton Family Practice, Mennonite Memorial Home and Maple Crest.
Those attending could easily get from location to location with transportation being provided free of charge.
Next year’s Bluffton Fall Festival is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021.
