Harry A. Heise was a former mayor of LaFayette
Harry A. Heise, 85, diedon Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at 6:22 a.m. at his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Nov. 26, 1935, in Athens, Michigan, to the later Edgar and Pearl (Jones) Heise. On Aug. 18, 1962, Harry married Dianna Cordes of Alpena, Michigan. and she survives in LaFayette.
Harry worked for Superior Coach for 29 years. He then worked for Allen East Schools as the maintenance and transportation supervisor, retiring in 1998 after working for 18. Harry then worked for 13 years for Cardinal Bus Sales and Service. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served as the former mayor of LaFayette.
Also surviving are his children: Perry (Kelly) Heise of Lima and Melissa (Companion, Rollie) Heise of Barrington, Illinois; three grandsons: Isaac (Becky) Heise, Harry Silverman, and Jack Silverman; a granddaughter, Kelsey (Cody) Long; two great grandchildren: Addilyn Rae and Ryleigh Kay; three brothers: George Heise, Ralph Heise and Bill Heise; and four sisters: Lois DeCamp, Mary Patrick, Ellen Holly and Cathy Brooks.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer M. Heise on Aug. 17, 2019; a brother, Donald Heise; and a sister, Edna Pugh.
Private graveside services will be held at LaFayette Cemetery, LaFayette, with Rev. Patrick Allen officiating. The funeral service for Harry will be live streamed on the Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services Facebook Page beginning at noon on Thursday, Dec. 17.
