Bluffton girls draw Falcons
The visiting Bluffton girls soccer team tied Riverdale 1-1 Saturday night, September 11.
The Lady Pirate kickers ran their record to 4-2-1 after the non-league tie. The Lady Falcons moved to 3-3-1 with the draw.
The game was scoreless early into the second half. Bluffton's Riley Eachus made the first goal of the game in the 43rd minute off an assist from Allison Diller.
But a minute later, Riverdale tied it 1-1 on a goal by Lexi Miller. Neither team scored again over the final 36 minutes.
The Pirate offense got off 18 shots, eight of which were on goal. The Falcons fired 19 shots, six of which were on goal.
Bluffton goalkeeper Julia Mehaffie made five saves. Falcon keeper Anjelina Sierra was credited with seven stops.
The Bluffton girls resume NWC play at Delphos Jefferson (1-3-3, 0-1-1 NWC) Monday, Sept. 13. DJ lost 6-3 at Coldwater Saturday.
