Bluffton girls stymie Thunderbirds, 46-24

The visiting Bluffton girls basketball team handcuffed county rival Lima Central Catholic 46-24 in a non-league mismatch Tuesday night, November 30.

The Lady Pirates led 13-6 after one period and extended the margin to 28-9 by intermission. An 11-3 third period put the game further out of reach with a 27-point Pirate bulge heading to the final stanza.

Bluffton improved to 3-0 with the lopsided win.

Pirate Ayla Grandey and Kylie Stackhouse each netted 12 points to pace the victors. Riley Eachus added seven markers.

Bridget Mulcahy led cold-shooting LCC with eight points.

The Lady Pirates canned 20 baskets. They made three shots from beyond the arc, and sank 17 shots from two-point range. Bluffton converted three of its six charity stripe tries (50 percent).

LCC made just six two-point field goals, and also canned three triples for nine total baskets. They also sank three of six foul shots (50 percent).
