Robert Setzer worked for Buckeye Rubber
Robert Setzer, 89, Bluffton passed away December 10, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. Robert was born on July 19, 1932 in Willoughby, Ohio to the late Carl and Pearl (Haskell) Setzer. On November 8, 1952 he married Bonita Jean (Holder) Setzer.
Robert was a draftsman in Fort Knox Kentucky and following his honorable discharge from the United States Army he went to work for Ohio Rubber. In 1974 he became the sales manager for Buckeye Rubber in Lima, Ohio.
Robert is survived by his wife Bonita Setzer of Bluffton; eight children, Robert Setzer,Jr. of Lakeland, Florida, Bradford (Christine) Setzer of Bluffton, William (Julie) Setzer of Deshler, Elizabeth Londo of Lima, Daniel Brent (Jodi Steiner) Setzer of Bluffton, Barbara (Jay) Stratton of Bluffton, Rebecca (Kenny) Fairchild of Waynesville, and Beverly Setzer of Wapakoneta; nineteen grandchildren Andrea Setzer, Dakota Setzer, Emily Dunn, Daniel Setzer, William (Emma) Setzer, Marc (Beka) Setzer, Ashley (Paul) Mackenbach, David Londo, Olivia Setzer, Rylee Setzer, Carly Setzer, Bonnie Stratton, RJ Stratton, Robert (Brooke) Stratton, Nina Setzer, Kenny Fairchild, Jr., Benjamin Hopkins, Brynlee Hopkins and Briggs Hopkins; five great-grandchildren. Jacob Donovan, Marley Mackenbach, Cooper Dunn, Annalyn and Emmalee Setzer and a brother, Ken (Linda) Setzer of Mentor.
Robert was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted Setzer and Carl Setzer, and a granddaughter, Bella Jean Hopkins.
Robert enjoyed playing golf, bowling, building model homes and working in his yard.
A private memorial service will be held at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Burial will take place in Mentor Municipal Cemetery, Mentor, Ohio.
