A letter from Mayor Richard Johnson

To All Residents of the Village of Bluffton,

We are soon to be at the end of another year. We still face uncertainties with many cases of Covid 19 along with the new Omicron variant. As you celebrate Christmas and the New Year, stay safe and healthy. The Village continues to stay on top of the many unforeseen situations that can arise on a daily basis in the village.

We had the opening of State Route 103 with new sidewalks and curbing, and we continue to work on the next phase of 103 to Arby’s. There are businesses still struggling to stay open, as it has become difficult to keep employment to staff their place of business.

We are thankful that all of our Main Street stores are open or work in progress to open in the near future. Many new projects are on course for the upcoming year 2022 and our employees continue to do a marvelous job to keep our village up and running. Council continues to work on the Ordinances, Streets and Alleys, Parks and Recreation, Safety and tweaking the finances so we are able to remain in the black.

2021 was a year that continued to give us some challenges, but when we reflect back on each and every day hopefully there are many things that you can find to be thankful for and feel blessed. 2022 is around the corner and the Village is optimistic and hopeful that we will continue to make Bluffton a successful and prosperous place to live.

Hopefully the new year will insure each and every one of us a year of good health, prosperity, hope and peace.

Thank you fellow citizens and I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.

It is truly a blessing to be your Mayor,

Richard L. Johnson

Mayor, Village of Bluffton
