Lane Rossman was a student at Bluffton Middle School
Lane Robert Rossman, 12, passed away on February 15, 2022 at Bluffton Hospital. He was born on November 18, 2009 in Bluffton to Lynn Rossman and Jayme Luginbuhl.
Lane started his life with many hurdles. Born with an extra chromosome, better known as Down syndrome. He was a sixth grader at Bluffton Schools. In September of 2020, he was diagnosed with leukemia. While at Nationwide Children’s Hospital he became one of the favorites of the nurse and doctors. They said he was one of their easiest patients, very rarely complaining. The outpouring of support and love from the school and community has been overwhelming and appreciated more than you know.
In December, he was honored by flipping the switch for the Blaze of Lights in Bluffton. Lane loved his family and friends (that were like family) so much. He loved dancing and singing, parties, Batman and Spiderman, swimming, hamburgers, “Skettios” Spaghettios, ketchup, boating/tubing, ice cream with chocolate syrup, his tablet, dump trumps, “Kickin the bears,” “throwing the cards,” Mawmaw’s chippers and Gator and Harley rides.
Lane was loved by so many and touched so many lives. He was the light of our lives and will be missed by all.
Survivors include his father Lynn Rossman of Jenera; his mother, Jayme (Tony) Schumacher of Bluffton; four sisters, Dilyn Rossman, Whitney (Brodie) Boone, Haley (Bryce) Tuttle, Lydia Schumacher; a brother, Jackson Schumacher; grandparents, Pattie and Roger Luginbuhl, Dee Dillman, Lisa and Dave McAdams, Mark (Debbie) Schumacher; aunts and uncles, Missy (Luke) Rausch, Brenda Galvin, June (Ed) Clark, Aaron (Brandi) Schumacher, Kevin (Jamie) Schumacher; cousins, Killian and Hawkin Rausch, Kayla (Luke) Inbody, Chloe, Lexi, Gavin, Elsie, Max, Oliver and Hazel Schumacher; niece and nephew, Embry Boone, Aiden Boone; and special friends, Amy Metzger, Beth Nessler, Ellie Harvey, Amy Williams, Emily Metzger and Leisa Stratton.
