Pirates drop baseball opener
By Cort Reynolds
Visiting Carey defeated the Bluffton High School baseball team 7-2 in the season opener on a chilly Tuesday evening, March 29.
Blue Devil pitcher Jordan Vallejo hurled a complete-game victory. He struck out nine Pirates to post the win.
Four Blue Devils each collected two hits--Ethan Burton, Nate Crawford, Ethan Plott and Andrew Plott--to pace the victors.
Up next for the Bluffton nine is a date at non-league foe Liberty-Benton Wednesday, March 30.
