Bluffton Public Library brings back in-person programming
By Tanya Augsburger
As the Allen County Health Department has lifted its Covid-19 restrictions, the Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St., has begun to open up once again to in-person programming inside the library.
This began with the Noon Book Group that meets the first Wednesday of each month (sometimes with virtual author visits) and Children’s Storytimes. Jammin’ @ the Library has also returned and meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, with a new start time of 5:30 p.m. The Allen County Council on Aging presented Medicare 101 in February and will be returning with an evening session on May 24.
Arts and crafts have been popular pre-Covid, and the library is thrilled to be bringing back our local artists and instructors, with Jeanne Beutler leading Watercolor Workshop starting on May 19 and Janette Reineke leading Fear No Art: You can do it! art classes beginning on May 24.
Tutor Me Paperless will soon be making a comeback, with emphasis on introducing Northstar Digital Literacy, a recent addition to the library’s services. Call to schedule an appointment and learn how to build your computer skills.
The Friends of the Library Book Sale will be returning in early June.
Stay tuned for summer’s “Oceans of Possibilities” programming, which will include programs such as: Ohio’s Urban Legends & Mythical Creatures, presented by Kevin Moore, Curator of Artifacts Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums; a hybrid in-person/virtual program presented by the Greater Cleveland Aquarium; Fred Steiner presenting on “The Bluffton You Never Knew”; and visits and presentations by Pet Partners, The Quarry Farm, and the Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District!
***The library does ask that you register for most programs, so that the meeting places can be set up accordingly and so that those that plan to attend may be notified in case of any changes. Space is limited.***
Please check out future programs at www.blufftonpubliclibrary.org under Events and call 419-358-5016 or stop by the library to register for programs.
