Private memorial will be held for Kevin Charles Sehlhorst
On July 1, 2022, surrounded by the love of his parents and brothers, Kevin Charles Sehlhorst passed away.
Born on August 11, 2008, to Ben and Beth (Wasserman) Sehlhorst, Kevin was a determined, kind, genuine, fierce, strong and happy soul who loved his family, his home and his very best friends: brothers Landon and Bryce.
He loved Sesame Street. And every night, you could find him watching his favorite episodes–laughing and repeating his favorite parts. He liked to read, listen to his favorite songs (especially “Happy” by Pharrell Williams) and cuddling with his “big sweetie,” his dog Katie (when they weren’t battling over the sunspots in their living room). His other favorites: bath time, bubbles, playing with his favorite toys, and checking in with his family with a smile and a “How are you?”
He also was happiest outside–hugging all his family farm animals, driving in the golf cart with his brothers, swimming, taking drives in his dad’s truck and throwing rocks into Lake Erie. He enjoyed wrestling and teasing his family.
His smile and laughter brought joy to everyone.
He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him: his parents; brothers; grandparents Gus and Tammy Wasserman of Old Fort, and Chuck Sehlhorst of Bluffton; as well as the rest of his family. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Kathleen Sehlhorst.
A private memorial ceremony will be held this week. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kevin’s honor to Children’s Developmental Center of Lima, a place of inclusion and love that provided tremendous support to Kevin and his family during his time there. Contributions can be made online or sent to: Children’s Developmental Center of Lima, 1001 Bellefontaine Ave. Lima, Ohio, 45804. Memorials also can be made to Bridge Home Health & Hospice, part of Blanchard Valley Health System.
