Save the date for Pantasia
Steel Band to Perform at MMH on August 21
Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton. has hosted an annual “Concert on the Lawn” since 2005. This year, the event features the Pantasia Steel Band in a free concert at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 21.
The Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Service Group will serve “The Creamery” ice cream. Special thanks is given to Don Snyder Excavating and Everence, who are sponsoring this year’s concert.
Seating is not provided, so those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and dress for the weather.
Of all the musical instruments in the world, few compare to the unique qualities of the steel drum. Originated in Trinidad, the steel drum is virtually an “infant” among musical instruments, having had its creation and evolution occur only since 1945.
Since their inception in the spring of 1997, Pantasia has garnered an impressive reputation as an educational and entertaining ensemble. They are always in high demand, averaging over 40 performances a year.
In case of heavy rain, the concert will be cancelled. Visit the MHCO Facebook page the day of the concert at www.facebook.com/MHCOhio/ for updated information.
