Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival adds goal kick simulator, beer sales
The August 27 Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival is growing. Two new attractions were announced by the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce this week:
A goal kick simulator will be provided by the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This is the premiere event for this Hall of Fame feature.
A beer permit has been approved. Beer sales will take place at the Center on Central with Ada Lions Club volunteer servers.
The Saturday event has two main components: an official PPK punt, pass and kick competition at 1:00 p.m. at ONU's Dial-Roberson Stadium and the 4:30-10:00 p.m. Tailgate Party at the Ada Train Depot Park, 9 Central Ave.

As of Wednesday, August 17, there are 65 participants signed up, ages 6-15. This is a free event with winners in each age group advancing to regional and possibly national competition.

Midwest BBQ will have lunch specials and ONU medical lab science students will host a concession stand.

Attractions at Depot Park include:
Two bands at the Old Route 69 Brewery stage: Voodoo Lane and the Shifferly Road Band
Between the bands: Ada High School cheerleaders and local football coach introductions by ONU football coach Dean Paul
Seven food trucks including Doughlicious Drizzles & Delights, Kona Ice, The Naughty Lobstah 2, Not Your Momma’s Grilled Cheese, Moore Than Just BBQ

Raffle includes Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals items as well as Century 21, ONU Athletics and chamber items.

This is the 6th annual Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival. The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce reminds us that "every football used by the National Football League since 1955 have been made in Ada, Ohio's Wilson Sporting Goods football factory. The [festival] celebrates Ada's remarkable contribution to the sport of football."
