Pirate spikers ground Pilots

Playing at home, the Bluffton High School volleyball team staved off a Defiance Ayersville rally to win a five-set non-league match Thursday evening, September 1.
The Pirates improved to 4-2 with the 25-22, 25-20, 16-25, 22-25, 15-10 victory. Ayersville fell to 2-4 with the defeat.
Kendall Stackhouse hammered a season-high 15 kills to pace the Pirates. Sophomore Ayla Grandey knocked down 14 kills, while Morgan Fruchey
added nine kills and 13 digs.
Gracie Yarnell doled out 23 assists and mustered up 14 digs while
dealing two aces.
Avery Talavinia led the team with 32 digs, and she also served up two aces. Olivia Hobensack came up with 15 digs, passed out 13 assists and
served a pair of aces. Olivia Siferd added four blocks, while Dyllan
Worcester led the team with four aces.
Bluffton also won the junior varsity match, 2-0.
