BHS volleyball sweeps Ada

The Bluffton High School varsity volleyball team swept local rival Ada in straight sets Tuesday night, September 20, in Northwest Conference action.
The 25-16, 25-10, 25-16 win improved the Bluffton record to 9-2 and 2-0 in the NWC. Ada dropped to 9-6 overall and 1-3 in NWC play with the loss.
Ayla Grandey led the Pirates with 16 kills. Kendall Stackhouse contributed nine kills. Morgan Fruchey and Gracie Yarnell added seven kills apiece.
Yarnell also dished out 16 assists, made eight digs and served four aces. Olivia Hobensack passed out 14 assists.
Avery Talavinia mustered 19 digs. Fruchey came up with nine digs, while Dyllan Worcester had eight.
Fruchey added two blocks. Lauren Bassett, Olivia Siferd and Stackhouse each had one block.
Ada senior libero Courtney Sumner broke the Ada career record with 23 digs to reach 807. The previous Ada High School record of 799 was held by Miranda Wills.
The Bulldog JV team won in three sets to improve to 11-3. Bluffton won the freshman match in three sets.
Bluffton visits Crestview (6-5, 3-0 NWC) Thursday, Sept. 22.
