BHS volleyball sweeps Patriots

The Bluffton High School volleyball team got back on the winning track by sweeping visiting Patrick Henry in a non-conference match Monday evening, October 3.

The decisive 25-13, 25-10, 25-14 win upped the overall Bluffton record to 11-7 this season. The victory snapped a three-match losing skid.

The Patriots dropped to 6-9 with the defeat.

Bluffton was led in kills by Ayla Grandey, who knocked down 11 and served a pair of aces.

Kendall Stackhouse hit five kills, while Morgan Fruchey compiled four kills and 10 digs.

Versatile Gracie Yarnell hammered six kills, doled out 12 assists, came up with five digs and served three aces.

Avery Talavinia mustered 16 digs, and also dealt a team-highfive aces. Olivia Hobensack dished out eight assists. Olivia Siferd added one block.

The Pirate junior varsity lost, 2-1. PH also won the freshman match, 2-0.

The Pirate spikers (2-3 NWC) entertain last-place league foe Spencerville (3-11, 0-5 NWC) Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Fifth-place Bluffton then visits seventh-place Columbus Grove (3-13, 1-5 NWC) Thursday in another league match.
