Findlay and Lima posts announce troopers of the year
Trooper David Lopez II and Trooper Kenton J. Gibson honored by local posts
FINDLAY--Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper David Lopez II has been selected as the 2022 Trooper of the Year at the Findlay Post.
The selection of Trooper Lopez, 30, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2022 at the Findlay Post. Fellow officers stationed at the Findlay Post chose Trooper Lopez based on leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, and cooperation with supervisors, peers, and the public.
Trooper Lopez joined the Highway Patrol in 2019 and has served at the Findlay Post since then. Originally from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, he is a graduate of Whitmer High School in Toledo. Trooper Lopez served in the United States Marine Corp for 6 years. Other Highway Patrol awards received in the past include: Physical Fitness Ribbon with Star, Criminal Patrol Award and the Military Service Ribbon.
Trooper Lopez and his wife, Ciera, live in Findlay with their son Mateo.
Lima Post Announces Trooper of the Year
LIMA--Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Kenton J. Gibson has been selected as the 2022 Trooper of the Year at the Lima Post.
The selection of Trooper Kenton J. Gibson, 32, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2022 at the Lima Post. Fellow officers stationed at the Lima Post, chose Trooper Gibson based on leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, and cooperation with supervisors, peers, and the public.
Trooper Gibson is now in contention for the District and State Trooper of the Year Award to be announced at a later date.
Trooper Gibson joined the Highway Patrol in 2016 and has served at the Lima Post since then. Originally from Lima, Trooper Gibson graduated from Temple Christian High School and attended The Ohio State University prior to joining the Highway Patrol. Trooper Gibson has been awarded the Criminal Patrol Ribbon, three times, Safe Driving Ribbon, Fitness Ribbon and the Traffic Safety Ribbon.
Trooper Gibson and his wife, Shelby, live in Lima with their children: Kayleigh, KJ and Scarlett.
