Bakery Bingo is a winning combination
By Paula Scott
It’s been a while since the Bluffton Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) has hosted bakery bingo–since 2017, according to Bluffton Icon reports. So when members recently met to make preparations for the upcoming January 21 Bakery Bingo event, only a handful of the 11 people present had experienced this Bluffton Schools tradition.
But make no mistake, the parent teacher organization is ready for plenty of bingo action. Some 60 bakery items were already volunteered, baskets have been promised for the basket raffle, and a menu of drinks, snacks and entrees was being finalized.
At 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, the PTO will open the doors of the Middle School Cafetorium for an evening of family fun. Elementary Principal Ben Thiel will be the bingo caller, with a new electronic display providing graphical reinforcements. A full house is expected.
Fundraising activities include:
$1 for 10 bingo cards with multiple winners per game
50/50 raffle tickets
Raffle baskets
- Arts & Crafts
- Dough Hook
- Family Game Night
- Family Movie Night
- Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn Co.
- Taco Tuesday
- Twisted Whisk
Concessions - a fundraiser for BHS Junior class post prom
If you get a bingo, you win a baked good item. Bakers may sign up HERE. You can drop baked goods off at school on Friday, January 20 or bring them with you to Bakery Bingo on Saturday. What kinds of treats will be there? The sign up list includes cookies, cake pops, brownies, rice crispy treats, breads, muffins, pies, cake, other and gluten free.
Baked goods sign up is HERE.
Families will also find plenty of snacks and entree items at the concessions tables. Keep in mind that it is very difficult for the PTO to make change for large denominations. Bringing small bills is always appreciated.
