Letter: Friends of the Library 2023 membership drive
Friends of the Bluffton Public Library
145 South Main Street
Bluffton, Ohio 45817
Dear Friends and Prospective Members,
It's time again to think about supporting the Friends of Bluffton Library by renewing your membership. The Friends now have over 40 members, and we look forward to continued growth.
The Friends of Bluffton Public Library is a service organization--our main goal is raising money for library programs that can no longer be funded by the library board due to cuts in state funding. This past year the Friends have provided money for library programs, needs, and projects. These programs include early literacy and youth programs, adult programs, outreach and continuing staff development.
Despite the pandemic, library usage has remained steady. The library continues to offer patrons physical and digital materials, programming, and always-on WiFi and internet use on library computers. Curbside pickup services, summer programming and at-home activities, local and state collaborations and a switch in interlibrary loan delivery service have made for quite a busy year at the library.
This year the Friends are planning a formal tea in the Spring and used book sales in the Spring and the Fall. The Friends are planning to fund several special projects for the library. These projects will both expand and update the services the library provides and the community so desperately needs. Please consider supporting the Friends of the Library. Remember, good libraries are important to good communities.
Donations can be mailed to the library (address above) in care of the Friends, or dropped in the bookdrop. Please contact the library at 419-358-5016 if you have any questions.
