Pirate tennis loses to Wapak

The visiting Wapakoneta boys tennis team defeated Bluffton 4-1 Thursday evening, April 27.
Bluffton fell to 6-10 after the loss. Wapakoneta improved to 7-7 with the non-league win.
Wapakoneta senior Connor Coffey defeated Pirate senior Braeden Ackerman at first singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. Coffey improved to 14-1 this season with the victory.
Redskin junior Aiden Bellman took down Bluffton sophomore Branson Hilty at second singles 6-3, 6-1.
At third singles, Wapak junior Parker Moell rallied to win a three-set battle over Pirate freshman Ollie Combs. Moell prevailed 5-7, 6-2, 7-5.
The Bluffton freshmen duo of Isaiah Kohli and Grady Coonfare posted the lone win at first doubles over the Redskin tandem of Gabrielle Pepe and Nathan Doll 6-1, 6-0.
Redskin junior John Jauret and senior Nathan Doll combined to win a tough three-set battle at second doubles over Pirate freshman Nick Lovett and junior Ayden Diller.
The Wapak duo triumphed 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.
