Bluffton girls soccer loss to Celina

The Bluffton High School girls soccer team lost 5-1 to visiting non-conference foe Celina Saturday afternoon, September 2, at Steinmetz Field.
The Pirate girls dropped to 1-2-1 overall with the loss.
The Bulldog girls led 3-0 at halftime. Celina’s Allanna Carroll tallied a hat trick before intermission by scoring goals in the second, fifth and 37th minutes.
Pirate sophomore Mya McDougle scored in the first minute of the second half on an assist by classmate Aubrey Burkholder to cut the deficit to 3-1.
But Celina’s Ellie Hitchcock netted a goal in the 69th minute to restore the lead to three. Rachel Rammel tacked on another score in the 74th minute to make the final margin four goals.
Bluffton put six of its eight shots on goal. Celina directed a dozen of its 17 shots on goal.
Pirate sophomore keeper Kynzie Ewing made seven saves in goal. Bulldog keeper Isabel Maxwell was credited with five saves.
Bluffton (1-0 NWC) hosts Crestview (0-3, 0-0 NWC) Tuesday, September 5 in a Northwest Conference bout.
