Eugene Fett worked for Phillips Manufacturing
Eugene “Gene” A. Fett, 85, passed away October 9, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.
Gene was born June 30, 1938 in Beaverdam to Carl and Geneva (Basinger) Fett who preceded him in death. On May 18, 1963 he married Geraldine "Gerry" (Freeman) Fett who survives.
He was a 1957 graduate of Beaverdam High School and was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Bluffton. He retired from Phillips Manufacturing in Ottawa and served on the Beaverdam Fire and EMS for many years. He enjoyed wood working, camping, hiking and traveling. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine "Gerry" Fett of Rockport; three children, Greg (Barb) Fett of Lima, Cathy (Craig) Webb of Rockport, and Becky (Frank) Ruiz of Findlay; three grandchildren, Kayleigh (Adam) Schultz of Little Chute, WI, and Elijah and Mackenzie Ruiz of Findlay; one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Schultz; four siblings, Deanna Hackworth of Delphos, Elnora (Melvin) Moser of Ada, Jerry Fett of Bluffton, and Roxanne (David) Baird of Findlay; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Emmanuel United Church of Christ with Rev. Jeremy Mann to officiate the service. Burial will be in Rockport Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Thursday, October 12, 2023, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the church.
