IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR
Friends Book Sale on May 16-18
The Friends of the Library Book Sale will be held at the library May 16-18 in the library’s lower level. Sale proceeds benefit library services, materials, and programs. Your purchase at this sale goes to enriching Bluffton and the surrounding community. Book sale schedule:
- Thurs., May 16: 9:30 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.
- Fri., May 17: 9:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
- Sat., May 18: 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Summer Read 2024
Bluffton Public Library is preparing for the Summer Read program “Adventure Begins at Your Library” with the artwork by Juana Martinez-Neal. The Summer Read program is for everyone and open to all ages. We are looking forward to spending the summer with you.
Attention homeschoolers! A presentation all about the “Adventure Begins at Your Library” Summer Read is available for all ages - please register for either Wednesday, May 22 at 10 a.m. OR Thursday, May 23 at 6 p.m.
Calling all teens (ages 13-18)! If you have some spare time on your hands this summer, we'd love to have your help at Bluffton Public Library. There will be a Teen Volunteer meeting on Thursday, May 16th at 3:30 p.m. for 45 minutes to discuss the Summer Program. Please invite anyone you know that would be interested in volunteering this summer.
Medicare 101 - May 21
Allen County Council on Aging will present Medicare 101 on Tues., May 21 at 6:00 p.m. There will be time for questions after the presentation, and participants can find out about other services offered by the Allen County Council on Aging. Please register in advance by calling 419-358-5016.
ENCORE PRESENTATIONS
Mobile Health Clinic - May 5
The next Mobile Health Clinic will be on Wednesday, May 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. All services are provided by individuals with the Ohio Northern University Healthwise program. This clinic includes free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol (please fast for 12 hours to participate in cholesterol or blood sugar screening) and osteoporosis. Participants may speak with ONU Healthwise students and staff about their results or concerns, and even receive referrals to area doctors.
Galley Book Group - May 15
A mixed titles book discussion will be held on Wednesday, May 15 at noon. An assortment of galley books provided by the publishers, scheduled to be published May-Aug. 2024. Register for the discussion, pick a book from the Galley Box, read as soon as you are able, and return. Repeat as desired until the discussion date, and always bring the book back and return it to the box so that someone else may read it. At the discussion, the group will briefly talk about each book read and rate the titles.
Watercolor Workshop - May 23
A Magnolia painting workshop (R)($) will be held on Thursday, May 23 from 5:30 p.m.-7:15 p.m. Artist Jeanne Beutler will teach on the lower level of the library. Walk away with your own watercolor piece of art, complete with mat. There is a $10 supply fee at the door (cash only please), and advance registration is required as space is limited. Open to adults and teens, and children with an accompanying adult.
LEGO Library Showcase - June and July
During June and July the library is honored to display local residents’ LEGO builds. The LEGO builds can be sets or your own creations. Bring in your builds May 28-June 1. Register at the Main Desk. Open to all ages.

Noon Book Group (R) - June 5
On Wed., June 5 the noon book group will discuss Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb. Stop by the library front desk to register and pick up a copy.
Playgroup
Fridays at 10 a.m. Make a playdate and the library will provide the space and toys. No registration required.
Hummin' & Strummin' Song Circle
5:30 p.m. on Mondays when the library is open. This is a relaxed, song-circle style music session and anyone is welcome to join or listen in. Bring your instrument, voice, or listening ears.
Open Chess
The library has an area designated on the Main Floor for open chess from 5:30-7:30 p.m every Tuesday the library is open. Bring your own board or use one of the library’s. All ages are welcome.
HOLIDAY! LET’S CELEBRATE
The library will be closed on Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.
COVID-19 TEST KITS
At-Home COVID Tests are available at the Library. If you have been exposed to COVID-19, please call to schedule curbside pickup.
