Obituary for Tyler Leigh Thompson
Tyler "Ty" Leigh Thompson, 38, passed away July 14, 2024 at her residence. Ty was born August 17, 1985 in Findlay, Ohio to Joe and Brenda (Beilharz) Faine.
Ty was a 2004 graduate of Van Buren High School and then attended The Ohio State University where she met her husband Chip Thompson and the two married November 1, 2013. Ty worked tirelessly to help and support Chip through his journey of medical school and residency. The two then settled in Marion, Ohio where they completed their family through the adoption of Leta and Elena Thompson. It was always Ty’s dream to be a mother and she was passionate about the adoption process. She was a faithful Christian who was baptized at Ocean Church in Estero, Florida. Ty's faith never wavered through her battles and she kept hope and a smile all throughout her journey, always leaning on God. Ty was an avid sports fan and athlete. She continues to hold the record of all-time leading girl’s basketball scorer at Van Buren with 1,469 points. She valued the closeness of family and friends and will be remembered by those who know her best for her quick wit and genuine, generous heart. She will also be remembered as an amazing baker and cook.
Ty is survived by her husband Chip Thompson; daughters Leta and Elena Thompson; parents Joe and Brenda Faine of Findlay; sisters Courtney (Caitlyn) Faine-Jones of Foley, Alabama; Paige (Damin) Oman of Arlington; Chelsi (Paden) Morehart of Arlington; maternal grandparents Ken and Mary Beilharz of Findlay; nine nephews and three nieces.
