Zombie month celebrated at public library
Teens hungry for fun - or just brains - are invited to participate in two zombie programs at Bluffton Public Library this May. First on Thursday, May 12 at 4 p.m., teens are encouraged to come dressed as the undead to discuss the book Zombies vs. Unicorns and play a bone-crunching round of Zombie Feud.
"Zombie Feud is basically a twisted version of the popular game show, 'Family Feud,'" Rikki Steingass, youth services coordinator. "I discovered that a library in Illinois played the game in January and I just had to bring it to our library! Zombies are definitely popular right now and there really isn't a better way to celebrate spring and Zombie Awareness Month than by answering ridiculous questions like, 'What celebrity would you push into the path of an oncoming zombie?'"
Then on Friday, May 20, zombie loving teens and adults are invited to the library at 3:15 p.m. for a special screening of the most famous and 'relatively tame' zombie film, Night of the Living Dead, made in 1968. Refreshments will be provided at both programs.
Also during the month of May, zombie books will be on display and available for checkout in the young adult section of the library. For more information or to reserve your spot at one or both programs, shuffle to the library or contact Rikki Steingass at [email protected] or 419-358-5016.
