Lois Benroth 1916-2011
Lois Janet (Berry) Benroth, 95, died on Friday, July 15, 2011 at her residence at Emeritus of Mentor in Mentor, Ohio. She was born in May 1916 to James Leroy and Effie (Miller) Berry in Bluffton, where she lived until 2008.
A 1934 graduate of Bluffton High School, Mrs. Benroth was an inspector at Triplett Corporation for 30 years. As a member of the Bluffton Presbyterian Church, she taught Sunday School to many children. Her affiliations included the American Legion Auxiliary and Bluffton Senior Citizens.
She was married to James W. Benroth from 1945 until his death in 1990. She is survived by her son, Jan (Carol) Benroth, her grandson Jeffrey, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Benroth was preceded in death by her two brothers: Darus Berry and Gerald "Spike" Berry and three sisters: Orpha (R.J Heckathorn), Myrtle (L.D. Yoder) and Ruth (Charles Robinson).
A memorial service will be held at the Bluffton Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m.. on Saturday, Aug. 20. A private burial service is planned for Maple Grove Cemetery in Bluffton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bluffton Presbyterian Church.
