Helen Neiswander 1915-2011
Helen L. Neiswander, 96 died at 1:30 a.m. July 29, 2011 at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born March 7, 1915 in Pandora to Grover and Corinna (Suter) Geiger. On April 4, 1942 she married Robert Michael Neiswander and he died April 27, 1985.
Mrs. Neiswander worked at Triplett Corporation, Bluffton and the Bluffton School Cafeteria. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton and a former member of Grace Mennonite Church, Pandora. She attended Pandora High School.
Survivors include a daughter Sue Ann (Alan) Amstutz of Dublin, Ohio; two granddaughters Sara (Timothy) Amstutz Ryan of Denver, Colo.; Gretchen Sue (William Smith) Amstutz of Chicago, Ill.; a grandson Jason Alan (Tanya Brown) Amstutz of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three brothers Francis (Mary) Geiger of Pandora; Paul (Mary Beth) Geiger of Farmers Branch, Texas; Grover (Pauline) Geiger, Jr. of Pandora; a sister Wanita (Willard) Cornwell of Arlington.
She was preceded in death by a stillborn sister and an infant brother John David Geiger.
Services will be 11 a.m., Monday Aug. 1, 2011 at First Mennonite Church, Bluffton. Rev. Louise Wideman officiating. Burial will be in Reformed Mennonite Cemetery, Bluffton.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Memorial Home or Maple Crest. Condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
