Bryant Miller, new pastor at First United Methodist, attended school here until 8th grade
Bryant Miller attended Bluffton schools until eighth grade when his family moved into the Bath school system.
He returned to Bluffton this summer after a 15-year absence. In July he accepted the call as pastor of First United Methodist Church. His first preaching Sunday was July 3.
Miller is a seminary student working toward a master's of divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Kentucky. He enrolled in the spring of 2009 and continues to take classes toward that degree.
This is Miller's first full-time pastorate. Prior to coming to Bluffton he pastored a rural Mercer County United Methodist Church on a part-time basis.
Upon graduation from Bath High School in 2000, Miller attended the University of Findlay where he holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in education.
From 2008 to 20011 he served as dean of students at Celina High School. He and his wife, Kim, a Delphos native, have one son, Max, who will be 2 in October. The Millers live in the United Methodist Church parsonage on North Dixie Highway.
First United Methodist's Sunday worship services are at 10:30 a.m. Sunday school will start after a summer break on Sept. 18.
