What we'd like to see in Bluffton in 2010

It's crazy, but for the past several years we've been able to name the year by simply stating "07," or "08," or "09." Not no more. "0 10"? It's simply "10," and it is bound to cause confusion.

Perhaps that's why "10" is going to be such a confused year in our prediction. There are several things we'd like to see in "10." There we said it again, and still comes out confusing.

Anyway, we'd like to see the following in "10" but don't bet on it.

1 - A return of the College-Main stop light.

2 - Mayor's court remain in Bluffton.

3 - The Lima 458 post office distribution center remain in Lima.

4 - The eradication of the Emerald Ash Borer in Bluffton.

5 - The evolution of a poop-less Canada Goose at the Buckeye.

Things we hope to see in "10" and if we play our cards right, these will happen.

1 - Passage of the Bluffton school renewal income tax levy,

2 - An improved housing market.

3 - An improved job market.

4 - The rebuilding of the Spring Street bridge over Riley Creek.

5 - No serious accidents at the College-Main intersection.

Some things coming down the pike, which we look forward to and urge those who have the power to pull it off "full speed ahead."

1 - A bike-walkway connecting Riverbend to the village; and connecting I-75 to the village.

2 - Volunteers step up to the plate to assist in the 2011 celebration of Bluffton's 150th anniversary.

3 - A movement to place a bell carillon in the clock tower of the town hall.

4 - Some way to adjust the high school and university football schedules so that both schools may celebrate homecoming the same weekend - and thus assure the community one huge homecoming parade every year.

5 - A new Oscar Velasquez mural in the community.

What's on your wish list for "10," excuse us, "2010"?
