Roscoe Evans
April 21, 1889-Sept. 13, 1968

Bluffton has a long history of persons with outstanding musical talents. But only one, Roscoe Evans, can claim he tamed the king of instruments, the organ. He spent 23 years of his career as caretaker of the world's largest organ.

Born in Delphos, Roscoe Evans' family moved to Bluffton where Roscoe attended Bluffton schools until his high school years. However, the Evans family moved from Bluffton to Van Wert in 1905. Had the family remained here, he would have graduated with the class of 1907.

Prior to moving to Van Wert, his father, John B. Evans, operated a livery stable in a barn that was originally located on the property that today houses The Curling Iron at 129 N. Main Street.

Pain Management, Blanchard Valley Pain Management

In the world of modern medicine, where cutting-edge technology and innovative treatments often take center stage, it’s easy to overlook the fundamental principles that underpin healthcare. There is power in returning to the basics, where the foundations of compassionate care, thorough patient examinations, and patient education play a pivotal role in patients overcoming their chronic pain.

The Physical Examination

One of the core principles of our approach is the value of the physical examination. During every patient visit, a provider should take the time to lay hands on patients, using a blend of time-tested and specialized physical examinations. These hands-on assessments are invaluable in diagnosing common spine conditions and offering a window into the patient’s physical state.

Some of the common physical examinations include the following:

The Allen County Engineer will meet with township trustees and fiscal officers to determine the 2024 Township Road Program at 1501 N. Sugar Street, Lima, Ohio. The meeting for Richland Township will be on Tuesday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m.

Northwest Ohio – Wildlife District Two
In February, State Wildlife Office Ryan Burke, assigned to Hancock County, was on patrol at Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area. He was approached by two birders from Wooster who were unfamiliar with the area and seeking guidance. Officer Burke pointed out the portions of Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area open to walk-in access and gave the birders directions to good viewing locations for swans, ducks and short-eared owls. He also showed them the local bald eagle nest.

Tonight, March 22, the Bluffton Music Boosters will host the annual Chicken BBQ fundraiser and performances by students in 4-12th grades.

The indoor Bluffton Farmers Market will again pop-up at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center from 8:30 a.m.-noon on Saturday, March 23. This will be its second to last appearance before the outdoor market commences on May 4.

When the Icon stopped by the indoor market in February, it was indeed a close facsimile of the outdoor market. We found familiar faces–both vendors and shoppers–and the familiar half social, half shopping environment.

The senior center also has a variety of handmade and craft suppl items for sale.

Market manager Greg Probst will be meeting with vendors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 to start planning for the outdoor market, which is held every Saturday through October in the parking lot between the Post Office and Citizens National Bank.
