The Bluffton American Legion Post 382 has selected one Bluffton High School senior-to-be to attend Buckeye Girls State and one to attend Buckeye Boys State, according to Robert Amstutz, Post commander.
Buckeye Girls State is held at the University of Mount Union, Alliance. The session begins June 12 and ends June 18. There will be 900 girls participating in this 65th annual session.
English Lutheran Church, along with other Lutheran congregations from across the nation, is participating in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) World Hunger Good Gifts 'Buck-a-Chick' program this Lent, according to Kevin Mohr, pastor.
"Instead of purchasing commercial greeting cards, for a one dollar donation, you can receive and decorate a greeting card, created by Connie Maroscher of English Lutheran," he said.

Lamoile E. "Mollie" Amstutz, 94, of Bluffton died March 24, 2011, at her residence. She was born Aug. 6, 1916, in Defiance County to Donald and Violet Smith Salsbury. On September 10, 1939 she married Russell H. Amstutz and he preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1992.
Mrs. Amstutz was a homemaker and had worked at Triplett Corp. and Community Market both of Bluffton. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bluffton.
Fresh Encounters Charity Golf Classic, Findlay, is now accepting team sponsorship for its July 18 event.
Held at the Findlay Country Club, tee times are (your choice) 8 a.m. or 1 p.m. For morning golfers there will be a continental breakfast, lunch awards banquet and bonus raffle. For afternoon golfers there will be a lunch, dinner awards banquet and bonus raffle.

A children's clothing swap will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bluffton, from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 25, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 26.
All clothes will be $5 for a bag during the sale.

All clothing that is left will be donated.

All money will go to the Iraqi Student Project.
Promoters of the event ask that persons only donate clothing that is in good or excellent condition.
Anne Stratton will be at Maple Crest for appraisals. You may bring two items. She will not appraise coins, weapons or collectibles. You don't even have to bring anything, just come for the entertainment. Anne is VERY Knowledgeable in many areas. You can even try to stump her!
