Once upon a time in Bluffton you could identify a driver's residence by the number on the license plate. This driver, now a resident of Mennonite Memorial Home, once had an address of 493 __________ St., Bluffton. Viewers help us out as to the owner of this plate.

Our only clue is that this plate is on a vehicle in the Bren-Dell parking lot at Bluffton University. We cannot comment on whether 007 has a meaning we aren't allowed to discuss. Viewers please help us identify the driver.

The Bluffton Lions Foundation will be serving Harlan's BBQ Chicken during the Blaze of Lights celebration on Saturday, November 28, 2009, 4-7PM, at the Bluffton Elementary School 102 S. Jackson St., Bluffton, Ohio. Cost of meal $7.00.
In-house eating and a drive-thru carry-out location will be provided in front of the school along Jackson St. (enter the drive-thru at the intersection of Jackson and Vine Streets: exit at Church Street.)

From Tuesday, Nov. 17, to Saturday, Nov. 21, The Dough Hook, 117 N. Main St., Bluffton, will trading cookies for canned food.

All food collected will be donated to the Bluffton Food Bank. Some items needed include include cereal, canned fruit, spaghettios, ravioli and soup. The trade will be one free cookie for each item donated. Bring in 12 items and receive a dozen cookies free.

The deadline for registering for this year's Blaze of Lights parade is Friday, Nov. 21. According to Junior Weihrauch of Arlington, the parade chairperson, over 40 units are already pre-registered.

This year's parade line up is the same as last year's. Line up is at 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 28, at The Centre parking lot, 601 N. Main St. The parade starts at 5 p.m.

GRANT RECEIVED FOR REGIONAL LIBRARY DOCUMENT DIGITIZATION PROJECT
In cooperation with the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus, 12 public libraries across nine northwest Ohio counties, including the Bluffton Public Library, are partnering to implement a regional document digitization project.

The purpose of the project is to make an array of important and deteriorating local history resources more available to state residents and a worldwide audience of researchers through the Ohio Historical Society's Ohio Memory Project.

Donation deadline noon Friday;
Blaze auction Friday night

Bluffton residents are invited to a big party to launch the 2009 Blaze of Lights. The party, open to the public, starts at 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20, at The Centre, 601 N. Main St.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and musical entertainment starts at 6 p.m. The party includes an auction, food, gingerbread house decorating contest and middle school art contest.

The event is free and open to the public.
