At the June 18 meeting of the Bluffton Lions Club, a new president and officers were installed and three new members were inducted.
In the monthly Lions newsletter, Bourassa shared this message:
“I am looking forward to a new year of serving with the Bluffton Lions Club and am very thankful for all that the Bluffton Lions do to support our community. After being installed as club president on June 18th I presented a list of our club committees that serve as the heart of our club and help us to accomplish so much. Those members present at the meeting responded with the areas of interest. Be on the lookout for an email from me, and please respond with your areas of interest. We ask each Lion to serve on at least two committees. Your officers will be meeting soon to help plan for our new year, and we will use this information to help us build our committees.
“Our committees include: Fundraising Committees – Dare to Dream, 50/50 Charity Raffle, Festival of Wheels, and others. Club Growth & Service Committees – Membership, Citizen of the Year, Scholarship, Peace Poster, Blaze of Lights, Eye Screening and others. Project & Social – Recycling, Roadside Cleanup, Diabetes Awareness, Inclusive Playground, Leo Club and others.”
New Bluffton Lions Club members are Andrew Armstrong, Natalie Armstrong and Cindy Lee:
Andrew Armstrong is originally from Archbold, came to Bluffton College and has a degree in elementary education. He has a Masters from the University of Findlay. He has taught at Bluffton for the past 23 years and is a previous Lions Club member. He enjoys biking.
Natalie Armstrong, wife of Andrew, graduated from Cory Rawson and attended Bluffton College in education. She teaches 6th grade at Bluffton. The Armstrongs have three children. Their hobbies include camping, gardening and attending their kids’ sports activities. Natalie loves to read.
Andrew and Natalie are looking forward to being involved with starting the Leo Club at Bluffton High School.
Cindy Lee grew up in Bluffton, graduated from Ohio State University and has a Masters from Marygrove College. She has taught Middle School for 31 years in Bluffton and has coached basketball and track. She and husband, Dennis, have two sons and three granddaughters. She enjoys walks, bike riding, pickleball and music. Her father is Mayor Rich Johnson.
