WINTER READ
Winter Read is for all ages and runs from January through March. Pick up a Winter Read Challenge Sheet for your age group, complete it, and stop by the front desk to pick up a small prize!
52 WEEKS - 52 BOOKS!
For any adult who wants to challenge themselves this year to read an average of a book a week (or to simply track your reading in 2025!). Pick up a handout of your choice at the library to track your books!
**If you are interested in No-Obligation Book Discussions, where folks gather occasionally to share favorite books they are enjoying in 2025, sign up with your email at the front desk and pick up a blank journal to take book notes in! Depending on interest, the library might just plan some bookish get-togethers!
HUMMIN' & STRUMMIN'
Song Circle will be held at a NEW TIME in 2025: Mondays, January 6, 13, and 27 at 6:00 p.m. This is a relaxed, song-circle style music session and anyone is welcome to join or listen in. Bring your instrument, voice, or listening ears!
HOT TEA TUESDAYS
In January and February, stop by the library between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and get yourself a cup of hot tea to warm up with during your library visit!
SNOWMAN SCAVENGER HUNT
During the month of January, follow the clues and help your very own snowman to find all of his pieces and then make him your own!
MOBILE HEALTH CLINIC
The next Mobile Health Clinic will be held on Thu., Jan. 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. All services are provided by individuals with the Ohio Northern University Healthwise program. This clinic includes free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol (please fast for 12 hours to participate in cholesterol or blood sugar screening.) Participants may speak with ONU Healthwise students and staff about their results or concerns, and even receive referrals to area doctors. *Note: Mobile Health Clinic Weather Policy: If the Bluffton or Ada school district have a weather delay or cancellation, Mobile Health Clinic will be cancelled that day.
WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP
Polar Bears (R)($) will be held Thu., Jan. 9 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. Local artist Jeanne Crumrine will teach on the lower level of the library. Walk away with your own watercolor piece of art, complete with mat! There is a $10 supply fee at the door (cash only please), and advance registration is required as space is limited. Open to adults and teens, and children with an accompanying adult.
NOON BOOK GROUP (R)
Meets Wed., Jan. 8 to discuss Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. On Wed., Feb. 5, the group will discuss North Woods by Daniel Mason. Stop by the library front desk to register and pick up the book, and to receive email updates!
GALLEY BOOK GROUP
Mixed Titles (R) will meet on Wed., Jan. 15 at noon. This discussion will be of an assortment of Galley books provided by the publishers, scheduled to be published Nov. 2024 or later. Register for the discussion, pick a book from the Galley Box at the library front desk, read as soon as you are able, and return. Repeat as desired until the discussion date, and always bring the book back and return it to the box so that someone else may read it. At the discussion, the group will briefly talk about each book read and rate the titles.
After the January Galley Book Group, galley title Penitence by Kristin Koval (pub date 2/18/25) will be available and will be discussed on Wed., Feb. 19 at noon.
TEA BAG EXCHANGE & TASTING
Returning Thu., Jan. 16 from 5-7:30 p.m. Calling all tea enthusiasts and curious sippers. Join us on the Main Floor in a cozy atmosphere where you can discover new flavors and connect with fellow tea enthusiasts. Bring in non-expired tea bags to swap. Come sip, share, and savor the experience together! Open to adults and teens, and children with an accompanying adult.
WORD & WINE BOOK DISCUSSION
Held Thu., Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. at Greenhorn to discuss The Borrowed life of Frederick Fife by Anna Johnston while enjoying a glass of wine. There is limited seating and the book discussion is open to Adults 21+. Refreshments are available for purchase. Join us for an evening to relax, socialize and discuss. REGISTRATION IS FULL. SPRING STORYTIME
Registration opens Jan. 16. Pre-K Storytime & Baby Storytime returns in February! Join us for a time of stories, games, crafts, and lots of fun while developing early literacy skills! Pre-K Storytime is open to ages 3-5 and Baby Storytime is open to ages birth-2. Register online or at the library.
PLAYGROUP
Held most Fridays at 10 a.m. Make a playdate and the library will provide the space and toys!
CHILL ZONE
Held on Monday afternoons after school at 3:30 p.m. Chill Zone is a safe space for tweens and teens to hang out at the library. Anyone in grades 6-12 is welcome to join. Activities include gaming, socializing, themed events, and crafting. Snacks are provided.
OPEN CHESS TUESDAYS
The library has an area designated on the Main Floor for open chess from 5:30-7:30 p.m. every Tuesday the library is open. Bring your own board or use one of the library’s! All ages are welcome!

Nature Finds of Bluffton
HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
Bluffton Public Library will be closing early Tue., Dec. 31 at 5:30 p.m. and closed Wed., Jan. 1 and Mon., Jan. 20 in observance of the holidays. Due dates will be adjusted accordingly.
