Interior designer Brooke Place celebrated the opening of her full-service interior design studio and shop, Inside Innovations Inc., at 125 N. Main St. on Friday, August 22. As a new member of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, the open house event began with a well-attended ribbon cutting ceremony in front of the building at Vine and Main streets.
At the ceremony, Brook and her husband Kyle, with son Lochlan and daughter Brynn did the honors of cutting the ribbon.
Place is the new owner of Inside Innovations, Inc. which has served clients for nearly 34 years from Findlay, Ohio. She moved with her family to Bluffton in 2020.
Moving the business has involved redecorating and repurposing the space, which has been home to many businesses: a bank at the turn of the 20th century, the original location of Common Grounds Coffee Shop in the 1990s and most recently a church. Both modern and historic touches now fill the large open room. Red and black tile flooring and tin ceilings are many decades old. Place has added substantial shelving accessed by a rolling ladder and modern pendant lighting.
“I’m really ecstatic that I can make this place as beautiful as it really should be, historically,” Place said following the ceremony. “I’m really blessed to be in here.” Her customers will “really be able to see the things I can do…. I do flooring, I do window treatments, I do wall coverings. People can walk in and see a full working studio.” She also plans to have small decorative items for sale.
Business hours for Inside Innovations are Tuesday-Friday from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
