The Fort Findlay Stamp and Postcard Club marks its 63rd year with their annual show, FINPEX  2016.  This year’s themes for the FINdlay Philatelic EXhibition are “Findlay’s Hot Air Balloon History” and “Celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the First Transpacific Balloon Flight.” 

This year’s show dates are Saturday and Sunday, March 12 and 13.  Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.  A special show postmark and cover commemorating our Hot Air Balloons will be available for sale on each day of the show. 

The history of and recollections from persons who have lived at one time or another in the Swiss Community Historical Society's Swiss Homestead is the theme of the Swiss Society's spring meeting on March 13.

The Bluffton Senior Citizens-Bluffton Lions Club Foundation pancake and sausage benefit is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 12, at the Senior Center, 132 N. Main St.
 
One ticket gets you all the pancakes and whole hog sausage you can eat. The menu also includes coffee, tea or milk and applesauce.
 
Pre-sale tickets are $6 and $7 at the door. Children through age 4 are free when admitted with an adult.

Ready for some Swiss dialect?

If so, you are invited to "Speaking Swiss," Tuesday March 1, at 3 p.m. in the Family Room at Maple Crest.   

If you would like to speak Swiss or listen to others speak Swiss, come to our monthly meeting at Maple Crest in Bluffton. There are often 18-24 people present.

The Bluffton High School academic banquet is at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, Tues  in the Bluffton Middle School cafetorium. 

 A total of 97 students from the sophomore, junior and senior class will be honored at a dinner banquet for maintaining a g.p.a. of 3.5 or higher.

 

Tickets are now on sale for The Centre's murder mystery dinner theatre, according to Brenda Gaines.

Murder Mystery Dinner Theater on Saturday, March 12. Doors open at 6 p.m.. Hors d'oeuvers will be served promptly at 6:30 p.m. The dinner starts at 7 p.m. and the performance at 7:30 p.m.
