The Bluffton EMS will hold a chicken barbecue fundriser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, April 18, in the Bluffton elementary multi-purpose room.
Tickets are $6 and include a one-half chicken, baked potato, green beans and a roll. Desserts are extra. Youth from the Bluffton First United Methodist Church will sell desserts as a fundraiser.
Upcoming Youth sport leagues include U6 Soccer Intramurals and Grades 4-6 Girls Volleyball League. The U6 Soccer program is open to children who turned 4 years by 12/1/09 but were under 6 years of age as of 8/1/09.
This 5 week, introductory soccer league is held on Tuesday and Thursday
evenings from 6-7pm at BFR. Cost per player is $30 ($15 BFR member rate).
Friends of the Bluffton Public Library group will holds its spring book sale from April 12-17 during National Library Week. The sale will take place at Bluffton Public Library during regular library hours: Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hardbound and paperback books in good condition are being accepted for the sale, as well as original copies of audiovisual material (audio books, compact disks, videocassettes, and DVDs).
You are invited to join community members at Common Grounds on Wednesday, April 14, at 6 p.m. to discuss "Handle with Care" by Jodi Picoult. The discussion is hosted by Bluffton Public Library staff. Maple Crest Senior Living Village, Bluffton, will host a floral design class at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 31. Doug Smith, from Town and Country Florist, will showi participants how to make an Easter Bunny centerpiece from fresh flowers. The class will be held at 604 Crimson Maple Court. The Bluffton Music Boosters annual chicken barbecue is Friday, March 26, from 4 to 9 p.m. in the middle school. Pre-sale tickets are now on sale in the school offices. Tickets are $6.50 for either chicken or shrimp dinners. It is recommended to purchase tickets in advance.
