Blanchard Valley Health System to Host Annual Meeting

Blanchard Valley Health System will host its annual Boards of Trustees meeting on Thursday, March 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the Marathon Oil Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

The Boards of Trustees will approve their 2009 annual meeting minutes and review nominations for incoming board members.

In addition, BVHS will present information on awards and honors received in 2009, patient testimonials and upcoming news for 2010.

The meeting is open to the public.

The Palace Flophouse

The Palace Flophouse will perform an acoustic show, at 6 p.m., Monday, March 22, at Common Grounds. The band is on tour to support its new album Try Not to Get Worried.

The group will perform all original songs using a guitar, keyboard, and unique harmony to sing us heartfelt stories and songs about the good side of the bad side and the upside of the downside in life.

"Value of Photographs as Historic Documents" heads the program of Swiss Community Historical Society of Pandora and Bluffton at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 21, in the Patio Room of Maple Crest Senior Living Village, Bluffton.

Lisa Wood, Curator for Visual Resources at the Ohio Historical Society at Columbus, will discuss identification of historic photographs; care and handling of historic photographs; and ways to use photographs for research, exhibits and programs.

Ticket sales end on Thursday, March 11, for The Centre's murder mystery dinner "Poison Ivy," according to Brenda Gaines of The Centre. The event is Saturday, March 13, at The Centre, 601 N. Main St.

Doors open at 6 p.m., hors d'oeuvres are served at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. A cash bar is available. No tickets are sold at the door.

The menu includes baked steak, home-style beans, buttered corn, chicken victoria, new red potatotes, bread and butter, stuffed shells with marinara, dessert and non-alcoholic drinks.

The Bluffton High School junior class will hold a prom dress sale from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 13, in the BHS cafeteria.

Persons may bring their prom dresses and homecoming dresses to sell at the event. Those dresses must be brought to the high school between 3:30 and 6 p.m. on Friday, March 12.

This is a cash only sale. No checks will be accepted. The event benefits the junior class post prom committee.
