Obituaries

Ryan M. Sommers, 30, died at 4:17 p.m. Nov. 20, 2012, at University of Toledo Medical Center after an extended illness surrounded by his family and friends. He was born Jan. 3, 1982, in Bluffton to John and Elaine (Andrews) Sommers who survive in Bluffton. 

He had been a computer IT Tech at First Solar Corporation, Perrysburg. He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Bluffton. He was a 2000 graduate of Pandora-Gilboa High School and attended Bowling Green State University.

The memorial service for Ropp Triplett, who died on Nov. 10, has been moved to The Centre, 601 N. Main St., Bluffton. It was originally planned to be held at the Bluffton Presbyterian Church.

The service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 25, with Rev. Dr. Matthew Zuehlke officiating.

A visitation to celebrate his life will be held following the service from 3-5 p.m. at the Centre at Bluffton.

Maurice Murray from Kingston, Washington, formerly from Ada, died on Nov.10, 2012.  He is survived by his wife, Dolores, daughters Shawn and Leesa, grandson, Tyler, stepchildren Ralph and Mary Gorichanaz, sisters, Jeanette (Max) Miller, and Marilyn (Howard) Shelly. Brothers Roger and Scott are both deceased.

David C. Rusmisel, 93, died at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 12, 2012, at his residence.  He was born Nov. 24, 1918 in Allen County to Paul A. and Verna A. (Carroll) Rusmisel.  On Sept. 17, 1940, he married Margaret Lee Focht and she died Feb. 22, 2008.

Mr. Rusmisel was a dairy farmer.  He and his wife milked cows for 50-plus years.  He was an active member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, Elida, for 92 years where he had served as a deacon and church board member.  He donated a heifer to Heifer Project International in the early 1960s; she was affectionately named "Pleasant Moo.".

Betty Jo Sherman, 78, died on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at 6:10 p.m. at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.

She was born on Sept. 27, 1934 in Hardin County, Ohio to Carl B. and Rhea (McElroy) Gardner who preceded her in death.

She first married Grover Boutwell and they were divorced and he preceded her in death in 1975. She then married Billy L. Sherman on June 13, 1973 and he survives in Ada.

Community leader William Ropp Triplett, 92, of Bluffton, died Nov. 10, 2012, of natural causes. 

Mr. Triplett leaves behind a legacy of leadership and creativity that blessed his family, friends and community.  He was instrumental in Bluffton’s recreational venues, helping small businesses succeed and his innovative Christmas displays.  He also was dedicated to the associates of the family business, The Triplett Corporation, Bluffton.
