The Bluffton High School boys basketball team built a 10-point halftime lead and rolled to a 76-58 win at Delphos Jefferson in the Northwest Conference opener Friday night, December 15.

Four Pirates scored in double figures to pace the victory. The well-balanced Pirates improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the NWC with the convincing win.

DJ fell to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in NWC play after the loss.

Bluffton led just 15-14 after the first period as Karder Agner scored 12 of the Wildcat points.Marek Donaldson splashed four triples in the second period to lead the Pirates to a 39-29 halftime lead.

Blake Sommers netted seven of his 17 points in the third quarter as the Pirates extended their lead to 57-42. Two Terron Boblitt treys in the final stanza helped the Pirates win by 18.

Downey wins 2 races

The Bluffton High School boys and girls swim teams each finished a strong second in a six-team meet Wednesday evening, December 13, at the Bucyrus YMCA.

Upper Sandusky won the boys team title with 100 points, followed closely by Bluffton with 87.

The Rams also won the girls team crown with 153 points, while the Pirates were second with 88 points.

Upper won the combined boys/girls title with 253 points, while Bluffton was second with 175.

Sophomore Jenna Downey led the Pirates with two first-place finishes. She won the 100-yard freestyle and 200 individual medley races.

The Bluffton High School girls basketball team got doubled up 42-21 over the middle quarters and lost 74-43 at home to defending league champion Delphos Jefferson in their Northwest Conference opener Thursday night, December 14.

To register a child, you will need to log in or create an account and upload a birth certificate. Volunteer coaches will need to upload an picture of themselves.

For the Fall 2023 youth soccer season, the league included:

  • 234 Players in travel and rec soccer programs
  • 46 Volunteer coaches
  • 5 Field lining volunteers
  • 11 Volunteer board members

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls basketball team lost 66-42 to visiting traditional power Ottoville Saturday afternoon, December 9.

Ottoville outscored the Pirate girls 36-16 over the middle quarters to pave the way to victory.

LIMA__The visiting Bluffton High School girls basketball squad dominated Lima Central Catholic 64-20 in a non-league mismatch Thursday night, December 7.

“We came out and played a full four quarters for the first time this year, and put a complete game together,” said head coach Adam Burris.
