The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recently announced the spring honorees of the HCAC All-Academic awards for the 2019 school year. Twenty-six Bluffton University athletes were recognized for their efforts in the classroom.

Bluffton University junior Caylin Morstadt (Delaware/Rutherford B. Hayes) capped off her fantastic 2019 campaign by being named All-Central Region by the NFCA. She is a Third Team selection after being named Second Team All-Heartland Conference.

Dr. Cynthia Bandish will participate in special week-long teaching European art seminar

Bluffton University is pleased to announce that Dr. Cynthia Bandish, professor of English, is one of a select group of faculty members nationwide chosen by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) to participate in a special week-long seminar on Teaching European Art in Context.

The seminar, “Art and Society in Britain, Hogarth to Turner (1730– 1851),” will be held at the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven, Conn., July 21–26, 2019.

The Bluffton University baseball team saw two of its seniors named Second Team All-Heartland Conference when the 2019 post season hardware was handed out on Tuesday, May 14. Dante D'Andrea (Westerville/North) and Colin Gregory (Fremont/Clyde) made their marks on the record books en route to All-HCAC recognition. Junior Parker Reynolds (Avon) was named Honorable Mention All-HCAC by the conference coaches. 

The Bluffton University softball team had three players recognized when the All-Heartland Conference awards were announced on Wednesday, May 8. Junior Caylin Morstadt(Delaware/Rutherford B. Hayes) secured Second Team honors while senior Kelsey Reeder (Galion/Northmor) was named Honorable Mention All-HCAC. The Heartland Conference also announced the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Brianna Keeler of Bluffton, is participating in a Bluffton University cross-cultural experience in Israel and Palestine during the month of May.

Keeler, along with other Bluffton students, will visit significant biblical
and historical sites and meet with Israeli and Palestinian people.

Participants focus on the geography and archaeology of the region, the
history of the land and its people, and current religious and political
conflicts in the Middle East.
