BLUFFTON, Ohio - It was better late than never when the Bluffton University baseball team welcomed Defiance College for the final 2017 meeting between the Northwest Ohio rivals. Wet field conditions pushed the Tuesday contest to Wednesday, May 3, and the Beavers broke the 3-3 tie with two runs in the bottom of the eighth for a 5-3 victory.
Bluffton University will present “Sondheim on Sondheim” as the May Day musical on Friday and Saturday, May 5 and 6 at 7:30 p.m. each evening in Yoder Recital Hall.
The engaging contemporary musical revue features both well-known and seldom heard songs of Stephen Sondheim from “Into the Woods,” “Company,” “Passion,” “Sunday in the Park with George,” “A Little Night Music” and more.
ANDERSON, Ind. - The 2017 edition of the HCAC Track and Field Conference Championship hosted by Anderson University saw its share of weather-related delays and postponements but the Bluffton University Beavers kept their focus and composure to bring a quintet of champions back to campus.
Bluffton University student, Becky Boban, an art and writing major from Madison, Ohio, was recently honored with her poem “Built on the Breeze.”
The poem was accepted for publication by “The Merrimack Review,” a literary magazine showcasing work from undergraduate and graduate students, with a rapid and rare turnaround time.
Despite the accolade, Boban remains humble about her work. “It’s just one poem, but it’s a start. Maybe someone will look at it and be like ‘oh, that was a nice poem.’”
