Bill Gable, retiring treasurer of the Bluffton Athletic Boosters, was recognized this week by that organization. Steve Ritter replaces Gable as Boosters treasurer. The transition took place at the December meeting. The Boosters thanked Gable for his many years of service.

In the photo are, from left, Bertha Althaus and her parents, Barbara Amstutz Althaus and Rudolf Althaus. Bertha is the grandmother of Fred Steiner, of The Icon. Saturday, Dec.18, will round off the holiday music and festivities at Bluffton Public Library. Sara and Wendy Chappell-Dick will be playing a combination of flute, guitar and dulcimer from 11 a.m. to noon and Jim Boedicker will be playing holiday music on his guitar from noon to 1 p.m.
Beginning at 11 a.m., refreshments will be provided by the Bluffton Friends of the Library and will continue while supplies last.
Ebenezer Mennonite Church Disciple Singers choir, will be presenting a Christmas musical called "The Christmas Puzzle" on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 6 p.m.
"Join the four cousins who are snowed in and the power is out: no video games, no TV, no movies, no cell phones, and the list goes on!," said Renea Zimmerman. "All they can find to entertain themselves is an old puzzle. But the pieces of this puzzle each represent a different piece of the Christmas story. Come join the family as they discover God's picture perfect plan."

Bluffton High School boys basketball team went 1 for 1 over the weekend against Western Buckeye League teams, losing to Van Wert on Friday and defeating Bath on Saturday.
BHS defeated Bath (2-2) on the road 61-55, after losing to a 4-0 extremely talented Van Wert team 77-25. Bluffton is 2-1 overall after its WBL weekend. Levi Gleason led the Pirates with 26 points against Bath.

The Bluffton University women's basketball team was unable to find any offensive rhythm for the second consecutive game as Franklin scored a 57-45 win over the Beavers on Saturday, December 11, 2010. Bluffton fell to 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the Heartland Conference. The Grizzlies improved to 5-3 on the season and 2-2 in the HCAC.
The Bluffton University men's basketball team struggled with its shooting in a 74-62 loss at Franklin College on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010. The Beavers dropped to 5-3 overall and 1-3 in the Heartland Conference, while Franklin improved to 4-5 on the season and 2-2 in the HCAC.
