Apollo Career Center's Senior Honors Night is Thursday, May 26, at 7p.m. in the Apollo Commons.
Honors Night is Apollo Career Center's opportunity to recognize student achievement. Students who qualify receive a Passport, career-technical certificate and completion certificate. Students are also recognized for scholarships they have received and special honors.
My husband is engaged in an all-out battle with the squirrels that want to feast on our bird feeders. This is, of course, a long-standing feud, and one that neither side is willing to give up on.
Over the years, he's launched several plans, each designed to one-up the furry tailed creatures. A few years ago, for Christmas, I gave him a long-handled hook that - according to the seller - was guaranteed to out-fox the squirrels.
Apollo Career Center will award a new car to one lucky student with perfect attendance.
The event takes place, Wednesday, May 25 at approximately 9:40 a.m., in the Apollo Commons. It is a reverse drawing of sorts, and at the end two students will each be handed a set of keys.
One set will start the car, and the runner-up receives a new computer. Several businesses businesses donated prizes to this year's perfect attendees.
