The year was 1933 - but actually 1961. A re-enactment of the John Dillinger bank robbery in Bluffton was portrayed in this scene from the Bluffton cenntennial historic pageant.

The pageant at Founders Hall was presented on two evenings during the week. Leland Gerber took this photo during the dress rehearsal. Rudi Steiner, who had just graduated from Bluffton High School that spring, is in the center collecting the loot. George Burkholder, a 1960 (?) BHS grad is on the right.

The Allen County Sheriff's Department received a call at around 7:30 a.m. Thursday from a resident of Bluffton on East College Avenue regarding an individual behaving in a suspicious manner.

Officer Schultz arrived and found a man walking in the area and questioned him learning that he was not a resident of the area.

You can still keep active - at BFR. The action is only one week old and lots of it is free. A printer-friendly attachment at the bottom of this story shows all the program options.

BFR announced its 2012 winter "Keeping Active" programs, which run now to Feb. 25, according to Carole Enneking, director.

"Be inspired or inspire someone you care about to become more active this winter," she said. "Try out free exercise classes, add walking for exercise, and more more about healthy eating and fitness."

Taxes. It's one of the certainties in life. The 2012 federal income tax return filing season is now fully underway, with the Internal Revenue Service opening the servers to begin accepting and processing electronically filed - e-filed - returns on Jan. 17.

Icon viewers needing specific forms may check out the assortment on display at the Bluffton Public Library.

The IRS wants to be certain that Ohio residents know about their tax preparation and filing options, especially when it comes to e-file and IRS Free File.
