The Bluffton Elementary School recently released its third honor roll of the school year. It follows:

Peter Suter of Shannon Theatre announced that "The Hunger Games" (PG-13) will be showing at the theatre from April 6-12.

Show times follow:

Each evening at 7 and 9:30 PM with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 and 4 PM.

The theatre will be CLOSED on Easter afternoon (no matinees), but will re-open Easter evening for the 7:00 & 9:30 PM shows.

You are not in Bluffton anymore. However, that's Dave Sycks, Bluffton band director on the podium.

In late March the Bluffton Junior High Band traveled to Riverdale for an exchange concert.

"The day was spent rehearsing with each other's band director, rehearsing on our own, rehearsing together, playing some 'get to know you' games and performing a joint concert for Riverdale's elementary students," said Sycks.

The Riverdale director is Beth Voll, also from Bluffton.

Eight Bluffton middle school students participating at the District Science Fair at Ohio Northern University in late March, according to Dave Bracy, science teacher.

Three students received Excellent scores and five received Superior scores and will move on to the State Science Fair competition on May 5.

Bluffton's next American Red Cross blood drive is from noon to 6 p.m., Thursday, April 5, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, corner of Spring and Elm.

Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in Indiana and Ohio), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.

Greg's Health Mart Pharmacy, 126 N. Main St., Bluffton, will offer a free health screening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 14, according to Greg Conkling.

Services at the screening are provided by student pharmacists from Ohio Northern Univesity and the National Community Pharmacists Association Student Chapter.

The screening is free and includes:

oOsteoporosis screening
oLipid and glucose panels

The third County Health Rankings is now available and will allow residents look at how healthy Allen County is, see what factors affect their health, and compare Allen County to others in Ohio.

Kristine Frick DeBolt, 68, of Pandora, died at her home Tuesday, April 3, 2012. She was born Jan. 11, 1944 in Bellefontaine to Arthur and Ann (Harding) Frick who preceded her in death.

On Dec. 4, 1999, she married Reuben DeBolt, who survives in Pandora.

Also surviving are her son, Ty Comer of Pandora, her brother Mark (Dee) Frick of Elida, and her sister Karen (Wayne) Smith of Hilliard. She was preceded in death by her sister Jan Frick .

Mrs. DeBolt is also survived by step-daughters Sarah DeBolt of Bogota, Colombia, and Rebekah DeBolt of Knoxville, Tenn.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association's Board of Directors held a special meeting on Friday, March 23, and approved five additional items to place before the membership during the annual referendum voting process that will be held between May 1 and 15.

Among the items that will be voted upon by member school principals is a slightly revised Competitive Balance Proposal that, if adopted, would place schools into their respective tournament divisions in team sports based on a sport-by-sport athletic count.
