Bluffton University's small size and Christian atmosphere were among the selling points that brought Marcus Meyers to campus as a transfer student in fall 2010.
But after arriving, the Holland, Ohio, resident also saw something else, not obvious to most students, that he says made his two years at Bluffton a life-changing experience.
JB Networks, Inc., of Bluffton has announced the recent addition of Ben Feller of Findlay as a full-time Network Technician.
Feller joins owner Justin Byers, who has been the sole employee since the business began in 2005. Feller is a graduate of Arlington High School and Owen's Community College with a degree in Micro Computer Business Systems.
He will focus on serving the company's residential and commercial customers with computer repair and network troubleshooting.
Three Bluffton High School 2012 graduates are enrolled at Ohio Northern University this fall. They are:
Abbey R. Rieman, daughter of Robert and Louise Rieman, 7805 Rockport Rd, Bluffton, in the College of Pharmacy. She will be a first year majoring in pharmacy. Rieman was active in National Honor Society, SADD club and Latin Club.
Kyle A. Risner, son of Alan and Tamara Risner, 8037 Hillville Rd, Bluffton, has enrolled in the College of Engineering. He will be a freshman majoring in computer engineering. Risner was active in track and football.
The Bluffton Cattle 4-H Club is holding a chicken barbecue in the Bluffton Middle School cafetorium on Sunday, Aug. 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The cost will be $7.50 per dinner and includes chicken, green beans, applesauce and a roll. Desserts will be available at an additional cost. Carry-outs will be available.

There will be a mandatory meeting for all Bluffton High School and middle school parents/athletes participating in a fall sport, according to Alex Hanna, BHS athletic director.

On July 18, Bluffton Public Library will open as the 81st member of the SEO (Serving Every Ohioan) library consortium. The SEO (Serving Every Ohioan) Library Center, located in Caldwell, Ohio, supports a consortium of 80 library systems at 176 physical locations throughout 42 counties across Ohio, including the Ada, Findlay-Hancock County Public Library and Forest libraries.

No, this is not Bluffton. But it is a small northwestern Ohio town in 1902 or earlier. It's a scene from Ada and a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train. The scene shows new students being greeted for the first of the term at Ohio Northern Unversity.
The Bluffton Sardines finished sixth in the eight-team Western Ohio Aquatics League (WOAL) meet held July 13-14 at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool.
