Lifeline will present a concert of sacred music at Riley Creek Baptist Church, rural Bluffton, at 6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 5.
Lifeline is the music ministry of Amy Wright and Bill Hartman. Their music is described as powerful, dynamic and ministers to the heart and soul of their audiences.
Included in this concert will be special guest soloist Molly Pickett. Riley Creek Baptist Church is located at 4950 Township Road 27 in rural Bluffton. For more information call 419-326-6361.

-Police arrested Conrad Zemba Jr for DUS following a traffic stop on Jefferson St. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
June 2
-Officers took a theft report from a Hancock County resident.
-Officers responded to a Citizens Pkwy. business in regards to unknown persons stealing items that were on an outdoor display.
June 3
-Officers assisted in the investigation of a fire at a manufacturing plant on Jefferson St.
June 4

Lima-built steam locomotive Nickel Plate 765 is on the move in Ohio and Indiana this summer. After a weekend excursion on the old Nickel Plate mainline several other opportunities exist to view this famous locomotive that once made frequent trips through Bluffton.

Matt Huffman, State Representative for District 4, is the guest speaker at the 11:50 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 7, Bluffton Lions Club meeting. The meeting is in the Patio Room of Maple Crest.

No more speculation. Wendy's is headed to Bluffton. The Lima News published the accompanying help wanted advertisement in Sunday's edition, page G6.
It states: "We are hiring for all management positions for our new location. Opening in Bluffton!....
While there is no physical Wendy's in Bluffton, most residents are placing bets on land on the north side of State Route 103 somewhere between Schoolhouse Electronics and Commercial Parkway. None of that, however, is confirmed.

Residents and community members packed the house for the Maple Crest Senior Living Community's, talent show on July 12.

Here's an idea The Icon is pursuing and it's time is now.
In the past month three persons, separately from each other, approached The Icon with a very interesting idea.
It is: Could The Icon create an online listing (e.i. phone book) for persons who have cell phones? We've actually played around with this idea for the past year. The recent inquiries cause us to give this more serious consideration.
We think the idea is fantastic, and we're looking at some formats. Let's take it one step further. We'd also like to provide e-mail addresses.

Beauty in the Blends

Beauty in the Blends, a chamber music ensemble, will present a concert at the English Lutheran Church, 111 Grove St., Bluffton, on Sunday, Aug. 5, at 3 p.m.

ArtSpace/Lima announces the opening of ArtSpace/Pops: A Fine Craft Invitational in The Ellen Nelson Gallery, Saturday, Aug. 4. The show includes several local artists.
ArtSpace/Pops features all new works by 20 area craftsmen and -women in a joint showing which builds on the success of its predecessor in 2011.
