Village of Bluffton AEP customers received a letter last week explaining a government Electricl Aggregation Program that will affect all residents. Simply put, local officials bring citizens together to gain group buying boywer for the purchase of competitively-priced electricy from a retail electric generation supplier.

This week's Bluffton's Farmers Market has an extra event. It's the sixth annual performathon and fundraiser for Campus Life/YFC, presented by students of Krysti's Music Studio.

"We'll have  fun and fellowship, food, a silent auction, and musical entertainment by many of our students," said Krysti Schey of the studio.

Drawings for prizes from the fundraiser takes place at noon.

Sharon K. Jolliff, 70, of Arlington, died at 4:02 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

She was born in Lima, Ohio, on July 13, 1943, to the late Richard H. and Helen (Halker) Zeller. On Oct. 17, 1964, she married Jack L. Jolliff, and he survives in Arlington. She is also survived by two children: Christine M. (Greg) Denecker of Bluffton, and Mark A. (Kristie) Jolliff of Arlington.

Sharon is survived, too, by seven grandchildren: Kathryn, Mitchell, Kendra, Kylie, and Max Jolliff, and Gabe and Luke Denecker.

It's August and there's a new popcorn flavor of the month at Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn Co.

Tickets are still available for the Ebenezer Mennonite Church dinner theatre, which takes place Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 1-4.

The cast includes: Pat Bassett, John George, Mary Glick, Kevin Gratz, Sarah Lehman, Kaite Rhodes, Roger Rhodes, Amanda Rhonemus, Steve and Lynda Rodabaugh, Pat Rodabaugh and Brittany Sheehan.

Meri Skilliter, Dan Stanowick, David Yoder, Kara ZinkFrom the authors of the hit series, Uncle Phil’s Diner comes a new interactive dinner theatre that brings on lots of laughs and colorful characters in Family Camp.

The Lima Rotary Foundation will present its quarterly grants to eight non-profit agencies on Monday, Aug. 5 at noon during the weekly Rotary Club meeting, held at the City Club, 144 S. Main St.

The Lima Symphony Orchestra will receive $864 to provide tickets for Marimor students and their families; $1,000 to sponsor the Young People’s Concert; and $1,500 to fund the KidStuff Program at the Lima Public Library. 

Equestrian Therapy Program will receive $1,000 to assist with programming, including a new program for at-risk students.

Peggy A. Amstutz, 74, died at 3:22 pm July 29, 2013, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. She was born March 25, 1939, in Allen County to the late Morris and Martha (Dunlap) Lewis. 

On June 30, 1957, she married Robert Amstutz and he survives.

Peggy was a homemaker and had worked at Family True Value Hardware, Bluffton. She was a member of St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora. She was an auxiliary member of Gideon’s International. She was a graduate of Beaverdam High School.

Alex Hanna, Bluffton High School athletic director, released the 2013-14 BHS sports schedules.

PrimeTimers, who are persons 55 and older, will meet at noon, Tuesday, Aug. 6, at St. John Mennonite Church, 15988 Road 4, Pandora. 

Following the meal, Kevin and Debbie Mohr of Bluffton will provide a presentation on their missionary experience in Madagascar. 

A full meal will be provided including a chicken caesar salad, french bread, turkey club sandwich, fresh green beans and dutch apple pie.  

St. John's United Church of Christ will celebrate its 140th anniversary as a congregation on Sunday, Sept. 15, according to Rev. Carol Clements, pastor.

An anniversary service will take place at 10:30 a.m. and a catered mean will be served immediately following the service in Oppermann Hall.
